چکیده
The present study objectified to evaluate the trophic relationships among 14 fish species (10 natives and 4 non-natives) in Shatt Al-Arab River, considering niche breadth diet overlaps of species. food items stomach each are determined by adopting index relative importance (IRI). dietary analysis revealed a total 12 types major consumed (which represent >10% IRI). Two (Oreochromis aureus Cptodon zillii) were herbivores mostly macrophytes, algae diatoms. Four (Planiliza abu, P. klunzengeri, subviridis Osteomugil speigleri) mainly fed on diatoms, detritus algae. Three (Carasobarbus luteus, Carassius auratus Cyprinus carpio) omnivores detritus, diatoms (Tenualosa illisha Nematalosa nasus) filter feeders largely zooplankton, algae, macrophytes. (Acanthopagrus arabicus, Johnius belangerii J. dussumeiri) carnivores preyed shrimps, crabs fish. Levin’s analyses divided studied into three categories; two with high specialization, five low seven generalization feeders. composition exhibited 62 as indicated Jaccard index, eight them high, 36 moderate 18 overlaps. Only dussumeiri have no overlap other Overall, demonstrates that most between moderate, but degree was native (C. luteus) invading auratus) therefore strengthen earlier conclusions regarding interspecific competition these

The upper Gila River basin is one of the few unimpounded drainage basins west of the Continental Divide, and as such is a stronghold for endemic fishes in the region. Nevertheless, multiple nonindigenous fishes potentially threaten the persistence of native fishes, and little is known of the trophic ecology of either native or nonnative fishes in this system. Gut contents and stable isotopes (C...
متن کاملTolerance of native and non-native fish species to chemical stress: a case study for the River Rhine
Freshwater ecosystems can be impacted by invasive species. Non-native species can become invasive due to their high tolerance to environmental stressors (e.g., pollution and habitat modifications). Yet, tolerance of native and non-native fish species exposed simultaneously to multiple chemical stressors has not been investigated. To quantify tolerance of native and non-native fish species in th...
متن کاملTrophic Strategies of a Non-Native and a Native Amphibian Species in Shared Ponds
One of the critical factors for understanding the establishment, success and potential impact on native species of an introduced species is a thorough knowledge of how these species manage trophic resources. Two main trophic strategies for resource acquisition have been described: competition and opportunism. In the present study our objective was to identify the main trophic strategies of the ...

Noise pollution is one of the most important features of architectural spaces having a great impact on the comfort of residents. Therefore, providing appropriate and sustainable solutions for noise pollution control is essential. Today, with the use of man-made synthetic materials, it has been tried to improve the sound performance of buildings. The purpose of this study is to show the characte...
